Ladies' Past Captains Day
60th Anniversary
This year marked the 60th meeting of the Ladies’ Past Captains at Rushcliffe Golf Club. This is an amazing achievement and one that not many Clubs are able to match.
Ten Ladies played 11 holes of golf and then 17 Ladies enjoyed a splendid lunch provided by our Chef, Doug. Doug also surprised us by serving delicious hors d’oeuvres before lunch to get our celebrations off to a winning start.
Although only 17 were present, we heard from another 14 Past Captains who couldn’t be with us.
It is also a tradition to invite the present Lady Captain and we were pleased that Pat Gladstone was able to attend after her recent illness.
Iris Collings, Captain in 1979, our longest serving Past Captain presented the golf prizes and cut the cake to celebrate this historic event.
Gill Tubb was the winner and received the Salver from Iris Collings, with Jean Makin the runner up and Ena Highet with the best score on the par 3’s.
We look forward to this event continuing at Rushcliffe Golf Club for many more years to come.
