Academy helpers needed
Could you help at the academy sessions?
BPGC Academy gives aspiring golfers the opportunity to learn how to play golf, whilst at the same time being introduced to our club. The Academy run by Andy Tocher includes individual and group lessons covering the long game on the driving range, the short game, putting plus rules and course etiquette.

In addition we have the all important course tuition/supervision, which is held on a number of Sundays throughout the year. This is where we are looking for BPGC Members to help Andy Tocher on the golf course. If you are able to provide a few hours on a Sunday please add your name to the Academy Helpers lists located in the Locker Rooms, or by emailing the pro shop.

It is fun working with this enthusiastic group of people and a great way for them to get to know members, to play the course, and have a greater understanding of rules and course etiquette. The sessions take a few hours and end up on the 19th hole.

Academy Session Guidelines for Sunday Roll Ups
The Academy Sunday Roll Up Sessions last about 2 hours are typically held in the afternoons at about 3PM, or, in the mornings from 8AM.

The session is run by Andy Tocher with the Academy members playing 6 holes from the 200-yard markers. Andy obviously teaches them how to play golf.

Helpers are there to guide and share experiences on the following:
• Pace of play.
• Placement of golf bag or trolley.
• Replacing divots, pitch marks and how to rake bunkers.
• Behaviour on the green.
• Rules of play, and
• Try and answer any questions they may have.

A lot of the issues can be discussed and answered whilst on the course, however it is important to make sure the game is not slowed down. This therefore gives the opportunity to meet in the Club afterwards for drinks and more chat.

Thanks in anticipation of your help from us and all the Academy members.
