In line with the advice from government and golf’s governing body the English Golf Union/R&A, this document will act as the guide to how we stay as safe as possible whilst enjoying our golf at Huntercombe during the easing of restrictions.
It remains paramount that you do not visit the Club if you are displaying the symptoms of COVID 19 or have been told to isolate.
All our staff are self testing twice a week to help ensure their and your safety and will continue to do everything they can to make your experience at Huntercombe as enjoyable as possible. Your assistance in helping them achieve this will be greatly appreciated.
Course Set up
The government’s removal of rules and guidance around social distancing and congregation numbers mean that there are no restrictions on the golf course with regards to course furniture, touching golf balls or size of groups, beyond those set by the club.
All golf course furniture has been returned for normal use, including the removal of flagsticks (optional), standard hole cups and rakes are back in bunkers.
It is recommended that golfers carry their own sanitisers to ensure they can regularly clean their hands.
Practice Areas
You can use both practice and driving ranges without restrictions and without needing to book. We’ll keep the bays on the range by the 13th for the time being and the range at the back of the pro shop will re-open for that all important loosen up before play.
Tee booking arrangements
We have removed the tee sheet and Huntercombe is back to turn up and play. Reserved tee times will still apply for competitions, visiting groups and societies. We will continue to send out a fixture list for the week ahead and the online diary will be updated.
Clubhouse Facilities
In line with the government guidelines, whilst mask wearing is not a legal requirement, we strongly recommend that members, guests and visitors wear masks when moving round the clubhouse or entering the professional shop or office.
The bar will be open but we will still provide table service for those who prefer it and we will maintain appropriate distance between tables.
Showers are available but there is currently no requirement to change for lunch and golf attire may be worn in the dining room after matches.
Any larger indoor functions will be risk assessed to gauge viability and safety of hosting.
Finally, we do ask all members and their guests to be sensitive to the requirement and wishes of others and observe a courteous level of social distancing.
We have taken a careful and phased approach so far and we will continue to keep the safety of our staff, members and visitors as our main priority.
Your co-operation with the extensive rules and conditions we have put in place during the COVID-19 period has been exemplary and we hope that you will continue to support our measures for the safety and comfort of all members and staff.
Let’s stay safe and play safe.
