Hole in One for our Mens/Seniors Captain
Congratulations Tony Rhodes
The Dick Hammond Trophy 4BBB was played last weekend & during Stags’ Monday. During Monday’s play Tony Rhodes played his tee shot on the 135 yard seventh hole with his 7 iron.

Anyone who has had the dubious pleasure of playing with him will know that he’d be chuntering on to himself how he shouldn’t “dip”, should watch the ball, should keep his head down, should aim slightly right to compensate for his pull, should not rush the back-swing & should exaggerate the follow through along the line of the swing. His shot looked fine in the air but he announced that it would turn right-angles on landing. This time it bounced only slightly right & ran up to & straight into the hole. His team mate Phil Donoghue whooped because it would mean plenty of points in the competition, David Wragg whooped because there’d be a beer in it for him & Mike Watkins was singularly unimpressed, stating that he’d managed the feat 3 times on that hole.
