The scratch team progressed into round 2 of this year's County Scratch Team Trophy by the narrowest of margins with a 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 win.

The matches have been reduced to 8 singles matches and with the whole team playing off plus handicaps, a win appeared a formality. This was not to be the case, a good Dyke team, strong winds, quick greens and some early season rust provided a greater challenge than anticipated.

Alarm bells sounded as three of our top players suffered defeats in the first four matches with Dean Plant the only winner to trail 3-1 , but Mark Budd, Andy Larkin (pictured) & Steve Graham proved too strong at the back and new boy Doug Park secured victory by halving his match.

The Team have been drawn away again against Royal Eastbourne on Saturday 5th June, the team they beat to win the title in 2020. First match at 12.50.

A big thanks to the members that came over and offered their support, same again would be great for the next match.
