Dean Plant finished 4th at Sunningdale GC (new course) as he finishes 2 shots outside a play-off.
Dean shot 73-72 in very testing conditions over the the challenging heathland course, rated as one of the toughest in England. , No players broke par over 36 holes in the blustery conditions.
Trailing his opponent Peter Finch by 1 shot on the 18th , Dean closed with a par against Finch's birdie 4, resulting in a two shot win for the man from Ashton-in- Makerfield GC.
Dean quickly forgot his disappointment and shot his best round 65 (-7) in the Tombstone Classic (east course) on Sunday and reduced his handicap, much to the delight of his friends, to +2 and now lowest in the Club.
