Covid-19 Update
Lastest Update on our actions relating to Covid-19
Dear Member,

With the escalating situation regarding the covid-19 pandemic our priority remains the safety of members, guests and our employees. In addition to this we are committed to ensuring the continued available of golfing facilities for our members and the longevity of our golf club through these uncertain times.

With that in mind our latest steps are outlined below;

Course
Until we are instructed otherwise, golf is considered to be a relatively safe pastime provided contact points are removed where possible and participants respect the social distancing guidelines. To this effect the courses will remain open, but we have taken the following steps;
o All bunker rakes have been removed.
o Hole cups have been set above ground level. A ball is considered to be holed out when you hit the hole cup.
o The flags must stay in at all times.
o Ball washers should not be used.
o Ensure you always stay 6ft apart from playing partners.
o Do not share equipment.
o Wash hands before and after your round.

Golf Reception
The golf reception operation will continue to be manned to facilitate the opening of the courses but, from tomorrow, this aspect of the club will be change to a kiosk style service to further reduce person to person contact. Service will be via the rear shop window, but we would still urge bookings to be made over the phone or online where possible.

Competitions
All competitions and events scheduled to take place up to 30th April have now been cancelled along with all interclub matches. We will take a view on future months on a rolling month by month basis. Should we be in a position to re-instate competitions this could be done with some minor adjustment to signing in, score submission processes etc and any measures would be communicated to members in due course. Due to the number of temporary greens still in use and the way that we have set the hole cups, supplementary scores are currently not being accepted.

Clubhouse/Food and Beverage
The Clubhouse bar/restaurant facility will be closed this evening (Friday 20th March) in line with today’s government action.
To enable the continuation of golfing activities we will unlock the exterior doors of the locker room to allow members access to their lockers and the toilet facilities each morning. No access will be permitted into the rest of the clubhouse. Members who are concerned about social distancing are recommended to remove clubs and trolleys from communal storage areas during this period.
In order to provide a food and beverage offering a second kiosk service point will be set up from the conservatory offering a takeaway service for hot and cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches. We had been planning for this eventuality which enables up to start this service from 07:00am tomorrow morning but would ask members for a degree of patience whilst any teething issues are resolved over this weekend. In addition to the hot drinks and snacks we have on offer a bar service will be available from 11:00 again for takeaway only.

We will endeavour to keep members fully informed as things develop and hope that you are able to remain safe and healthy in these most testing of times. Your continued patience and understanding during this challenging period for the golf club, and country in general, is much appreciated.

Best Regards

Paul Lancaster
