County Team Champions!
Scratch Team win the Final at Ham Manor against Royal Eastbourne CG
The East Sussex National Scratch Team won the Sussex Team Championship with a comfortable 8 1/2 - 3 1/2 win against Royal Eastbourne.
From the moment Tom Foreman sank a 30ft putt on the 18th green in the morning foursomes to take a 3-1 lead, the match was effectively over as ESN has such an incredible singles record and quality of players in the team.
There was great disappointment for Gold Cup champion, Andy Larkin, who had to withdraw from injury on the morning, but his place was taken by Craig McCollum.
There were morning wins by Matt Hart & Mark Hilton, Tom Foreman & Dean Plant, Steve Watts & Ash Rees to take a 3-1 lead into the singles.
ESN picked up 5 wins in the afternoon with Watts & Graham conceding their matches for a half and loss as the game had been completed.
A big thank you to Marcus Opoku was the non-playing Captain on the day and all the members who offered their support as caddies or popped up to watch.
