Great Start to Season for East Sussex Teams
Wins for ESN Teams
East Sussex National Scratch team made a positive start against Golf at Goodwood with a 9-3 away win. A repeat of the 2017 final produced the same result as the Club dominated the singles , only offering 2 halves. The team is rewarded with a home draw against Sedlescombe GC on Saturday 18th May.
The Birchwood Motors Team also produced a great performance winning 4-1 against Horsham GC, their reward is a home tie against Rustington.
Both matches were played in gale force winds and cold conditions, well played to all taking part and Neil Sharp & Marcus Opoku who captained the sides on the day. Good luck in round 2.
There was also team success for the ladies as Jane Saunders captained the Div III team to a win against Mid Sussex.
‘The first match for their Div 3 ladies team against Mid Sussex. It was great to see such a strong team for our first home fixture whcih included Sue Hollands, Carolyn Oldham , Moira Lockyer, Barbara Lusted, Corrina Smith, Juliet York and team captain, Jane Saunders
Despite the showers and tricky wind conditions, which made the games both challenging and interesting, our ladies came through with a great win of 5.5 to 1.5.
After a well earned cream tea at the end, the Div 3 team are hoping that this is the start of a good year for the ladies’
