Alan Ratcliffe defeated Mark Earley in the battle for top spot, coming from 3 down to win the match with a 20ft birdie. An excited Alan stated "every time I have had a chance to get to number 1 I've blown it and at 3 down it looked like the same old story, but I hung on and made a great putt on the last".

Mark Earley's defeat may have ended his chances of the ladder, but remains 4pts clear in the league with only 3 rounds left, one more win will guarantee at least a joint win in the league.
