New Greens Equipment
The Green's Committee maintain a 5 year plan to maintain and improve the course and inform the Executive Committee of the cost and timing of the need to replace equipment. Historically, the club policy has been to replace equipment when all other options have been exhausted, and purchase the equipment outright. This has resulted in occasions where we have been forced to make unplanned, and sometimes significant purchases to replace equipment that has become uneconomical to repair.

Throughout 2018, the Green's Committee and staff have assessed the condition, likelihood of breakdown and the requirement for each item within the club's fleet. We have subsequently liaised with the Finance Committee to identify an alternative finance route with the objective of reducing the cost of ownership and providing certainty with respect to the future cash management. In August, this resulted in the Executive Committee approving a recommendation to commit to a 5 year partnership with our equipment supplier, Toro, that will replace the majority of the existing equipment under an annual finance deal.

I'm pleased to advise members that the club have now taken delivery of a fleet of new greens equipment. This represents a long term commitment by the Executive Committee to give the greens staff the equipment they need to give us the course we want, whilst also providing certainty of cost.
