Junior Club Championship
Duel in the sun for ESN'S young guns!
Ollie Smith won the ESN Junior Club Championship holding off a great round by Nicholas Lyons.
Ollie shot a level par round of 72 against Nick's 73 (+1). Nicholas held a 1 shot after his birdie on the 15th , but a lost ball on the 17th which meant he required a birdie on the last to force a play-off, unfortunately his birdie try from 20ft just missed.
Ollie Smith is a current County Junior player and is the son of the famous Sussex golfer, Andy Smith, current County Captain and former County Champion. He would have been proud of Ollie's calm finish, that included only 2 birdies for his 72.
There could be a promising future for Ollie, let's hope that this is the first of many trophies at ESN.

Ollie qualifies for the Junior Matchplay final in September against the winner of the Junior Robert E Cupp winner to be played on August 22nd.
It would be great to have more juniors playing, Membership is only £200 for the year, please pass on to any golfing friends with children to let them know what great value membership is. We even have coaching for those wishing to learn.
