Three of the Club's Teams played their first round matches with two progressing into the 2nd round and one into the Plate competition.

The Scratch Team & Defending Champions of the Oliver Trophy breezed into round 2 with a 12-0 win at home to Hollingbury Park GC, such is the depth of the team, they were able to leave out 5 players with a 1 handicap or better. They now face a tricky home tie against Seaford GC on Saturday 19th May, who they narrowly beat last year at Seaford, so the team will be taking nothing for granted as they aim to defend their crown.

Birchwood Ford Trophy Captain's George McAllister & Steve Newman were delighted with their teams performance as they overcome a difficult game to win 4-1 and set up another home tie against Crowborough Beacon. ( Victorious Team is pictured )

Alan Sanger & Nigel Phillips, Captain's of the Cyril Blake Team suffered a surprising early from this year's competition having been in the semis and final the past two seasons. They lost to a very good Eastbourne Downs team 3-1, although it was a very close game. They will now play in the plate competition for all 1st & 2nd round losers.
