First and foremost this means that from this coming Saturday (17th February) members can submit Village score cards for handicapping purposes.
**For the first time Village members will now be able to hold official CONGU handicaps at the Club**
To support this change we have also introduced a series of 9-hole qualifying stablefords on the Village Course which will take place from March 2018. Each month there will be two or three 9-hole qualifying stablefords on either Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays. These are already in the V1 diary.
There will be no entry fee or prizes for these competitions but will allow members to maintain competitive handicaps. All golfing members, subject to their category restrictions, can enter these competitions at any time of the competition date; they are not just for Village members.
As the SSS is based on an 18 hole course there are handicap adjustments that must be made when submitting a score card on this course; you don't get all your handicap allowance over 9 holes. There are adjustment charts on the notice board next to the PSI terminal or you can ask the golf reception (shop) for assistance; the allowance could be different for men and ladies. Alternatively you can simply mark you card with the gross scores and the computer will work it all out for you.
As with any competition you must sign in before the start of your round and scorecards should be entered into the PSI terminal on completion, with score cards being left in the "Village" score card box in the lounge. Cards must be signed by a fellow member.
The handicap conversion charts can also be found in the documents section of the V1 Hub.
