What started as a dull morning thankfully turned into a lovely day once the sun made an appearance. We had 18 teams take part in the competition, and it was great to see everyone out enjoying themselves.
A big thank you to the Office team, Pro Shop staff, and our amazing Green keeping crew—your hard work behind the scenes doesn’t go unnoticed and really helps make days like this run smoothly.
The baked potato lunch seemed to go down a treat, and thanks to our fantastic in-house team for keeping everyone well fed and looked after.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to my Vice Captain, Caroline, and the Ladies Committee for making my Drive-In such a special and memorable occasion. I truly appreciated it!
My Charity for my year is My Sister’s House Women’s Centre. A local charity, which provides support for women who have found themselves in challenging situations, such as domestic abuse, poverty, mental health and employment barriers.
To get the ball rolling for the charity there was the ‘guess the Lady Captain’s Drive’, which was won by Denise Rattray with a guess of 168 yards. £71 was divided between Denise and the charity.
Also the ‘Golden Ticket’, where ladies were challenged to land on the 2nd green with their drive. The winner, Jayne Barrett, was drawn from those that achieved this goal. This raised £52 for the charity.
The winners of the main competition was as follows:-
1st - Elaine Conisbee, Andrea Cooper, Sharon Reynolds, Karen Harding (90 points)
2nd - Pam Ashman, Denise Rattray, Vanessa Cole, Rita West (88 points ocb)
3rd - Pam Linton, Jane Finch, Sarah Lee, Lynn Messingham (88 points)
I would like to send my appreciation for those that played in the competition or just came to see the Drive In. I am really touched by the overwhelming support, cards and messages.

Calling all Volunteers!
As a members’ club, we take great pride in the way our club looks and operates – and it’s thanks to the support of members like you that we continue to thrive.
We are reaching out to ask for volunteers to assist with a few tasks around the club. These are jobs that don't warrant the cost of bringing in external contractors and currently fall outside the scope of our existing staffing resources. Your support would make a real difference in helping us maintain and enhance our club environment.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Trolley Shed, Shoe Cleaner & General Outside Area Tidying
We're looking for 12 volunteers to form a rota, with one member each week taking on light tidying and sweeping duties. This would be a one-morning-per-quarter commitment – a small contribution that goes a long way. It will include sweeping out the trolley and buggy sheds, sweeping around the shoe cleaner and washing down the front of it, and general tidying/sweeping around the patio and our external areas.
Snooker Room Maintenance
We’re seeking a snooker enthusiast to help with monthly brushing/ironing of the snooker table, minor repairs to cues, and to generally keep an eye on the snooker room. This could also include assisting with the coordination of any snooker tournaments. Estimated time: 2 hours per month.
Course Work Parties
Throughout the year, we’ll organise occasional member work parties to support the greenkeepers with tasks such as:
• Filling divots
• Clearing debris from ditches
• Collecting debris from under trees, pine cones etc.
The first Divot Party will take place on Tuesday 29th April, from 5pm to 7pm, followed by Sausage & Mash and a drink, in the clubhouse for all volunteers. We’re hoping to get 25–30 members involved to ensure we can cover all the fairways within this timeframe.
Interested in helping out?
Please email sec@bognorgolfclub.co.uk and let us know which task(s) you’d like to volunteer for.
On behalf of the Board, thank you for your continued support – it’s your contributions that help make Bognor Regis Golf Club such a special place to be a part of.
Courtesy Members Guest Greenfee Vouchers
All playing members received a voucher for one free members guest in their renewal packs in January. As our renewal period was for 6-months, these vouchers have an expiry date of 30th June 2025. Please note, these vouchers will not be extended beyond this date, so make sure you use them before then. If you have not yet collected your renewal pack, you can do so from the office.
All playing members will receive 2 further courtesy guest vouchers in their July renewal packs.
Please also note that 2024 vouchers are no longer valid.
Food Bank Collection
We are running a collection for the food bank. If you would like to donate anything, please leave it on the table in the foyer outside the club office.
