Vice Captains – News of the week
Great to see our Captain, Alan Pook, back playing golf again after a short lay off. Apparently, he is putting like God (beware).
The BDGS Seniors Cup on Sunday 13th April at The Dyke. Our boys, including me, brought back the Silver Plate in a 36-hole foursomes’ competition, we were very proud to wear the West Hove shirt. Thank you to Captain Alan & his wife Debbie for coming out onto the course to cheer us on!

The St George’s Day 666 Competition on Saturday 12th April, some crazy good scores from the 23 teams that played. The winning score was an unbelievable 121 points (beating last year’s score by 13 shots) from Martin Emery, Alex Wakefield, Simon Diplock and birthday boy Dan Brown.

Course Updates Dean Franks has said that the new bunkers have settled in superbly and to watch this space for when they will reopen. Hate to say this, but our course could do with some rain – preferably overnight!

Anyone seen the deer lately? I have seen a mother fox I think she could be pregnant. Ronnie Baker buys sausages from M&S to give to the foxes; it’s no wonder they love living on our course! Spotted on Tuesday: a pair of red kites. The difference between a kite and a buzzard – kites are larger and have fork tails (W shaped), buzzards are fan-tailed.
