Mixed match vs Gog Magog at home
Links victorious in annual contest
We welcomed the team from Gog Magog Golf Club to the Links on a dry and bright afternoon yesterday for our annual Mixed encounter.
A minor drama in advance of the match, due to one of the Gogs’ players not having arrived, resulted in the two ladies of that tie playing a singles for the point. The remaining matches teed off as intended.
Some excellent golf ensued with the Links proving victorious by a 5-1 margin. The golf was followed by an excellent meal of Gammon, Pineapple and Chips followed by Raspberry and White Chocolate Roulade which was applauded by all present.
To round the evening off David Earle, who along with David Latham from Gog Magog provided the original trophy in 2011 to celebrate 100 years of competition between our two clubs, presented the trophy to the winning Captain, James Greenall.
