Notice to all Members - 10th April 2025
Dear Member,

It has been brought to the Council’s attention that players are proceeding to hit shots when the Greens Staff are working on the course and clearly within range. This has recently resulted in some near misses, which not only puts the health & safety of the Greens Staff at risk but also opens up the prospect of a personal injury claim being taken out against any golfer whose ball strikes a member of the Greens Staff.

It should be remembered that the Greens Staff are working for the benefit of members and guests to get the course into the best condition for the season ahead. They should be allowed to do so without fear of being injured.

For the avoidance of any doubt, if a member of the Greens Staff is within range of a players next shot, then the player must wait until the member of Greens Staff steps aside and indicates that it is safe for the player to hit their next shot. If this instruction is ignored in the future, and is reported to a member of Council, then the player(s) in question will be dealt with under the NGC’s Code of Conduct. Due to the serious nature of this type of incident, the potential outcome of any formal process could be the expulsion of the member from the Club.

Please remember that we all have a duty of care to each other when out on the course, so enjoy the golf, remember the etiquette, and be safe!
