A great turnout on Sunday 6 April with 44 entering the junior family Texas scramble. It was a bitterly cold afternoon, but the sky remained blue as the 11 teams played the bi-annual 9 hole competition, which has become a popular opportunity for families in our junior section to play together on our magnificent course.

The teams consist of a mixture of parents, siblings, grandparents and friends. Some are golfers and some are not, but all have to play to the rules, regardless of experience.

Congratulations to the winning team, consisting of two fathers and sons. Robin & Patrick Greaney teamed with Leo & Rob Hurren, who came with a score of 19.8. Well done!

In second place with 20.9 points were father and son Ben & Max Leuty, partnered with father and daughter Daniel & Alice Crosby. A great result!

Third place went to father and son Simon & Harry Gilbert-Barnham, who played with our Club Captain David Mills and his grandson Tommy. They achieved 22.9 points.
These competitions couldn’t go ahead without the great support received from our young players and their families.

Our professionals, Duncan and Oli, hold regular weekend training sessions and golf days throughout the school holidays and, as a result, have produced a superb team of young players. It is a complete joy to see how much their games have improved.

Thanks to our members, the management committee and David Mills for your continued support for our youngest and newest members.
