In the coming week, you will observe increased preparation activities on the course. We will commence the daily maintenance of fairways, rough, greens, tee boxes, and approaches. Please be mindful that greenkeepers have the right of way on the course, and we will endeavour to minimize any disruptions.
Bunkers will be raked more frequently, and full tee markers will be placed on the course. Additionally, the summer flags, pins, and cups will be installed on the course, and the putting green will have holes cut and flags positioned.
Winter mats are now optional for casual play, so please ensure that you replace your divots. As it is early in the season, the greens may still be slightly softer; therefore, please repair your pitch marks as well as any others you may notice. This will help maintain the greens to the highest possible standard. Non-repaired pitch marks are a significant concern as they can make the greens look unsightly and cause uneven surfaces. New rakes will be provided in all bunkers, so please make an effort to rake any bunkers you enter.
On a personal note, the start of the season holds special significance for my family and me, as my father's memorial trophy is the first competition of the season. I hope you all have a wonderful year, and hopefully, the weather will be kinder than it has been in recent years.
Finally, if there is any way I can assist you on the course, please do not hesitate to ask.
Happy Golfing!
