A great spell of warm sunshine could not have come at a better time. With the season soon to be in full flow, keep your eyes peeled on ClubV1 for regular competitions and club events, such as tonight's Bingo night which is a sell out of 80 people in attendance.
Clocks turn forward this weekend so later sunny evenings perfect for 9 holes and The Masters starting in 2 weeks should get any golfer excited!
MEMBERSHIP
Thank you to all of you that have committed to another year at the club, we have had our best ever renewal period since I started in the office. Members that have not paid will be removed form the system as of Monday and we will welcome a few more new members as of next week. So far we have welcomed just over 50 new members in the last two months, all of whom seem to be making regular use of the facilities, making new friends and like all of us, look forward to the golfing season.
We have made use of our waiting list once again this year and the good news is it is already growing in advance of next year. The appetite for golf and to be a member of our club remains strong.
George Stables our newly appointed finance director has worked closely with all department leads at the club and prepared our budgets for the year ahead. We are in a great position to continue our investment in staff, machinery and the golf course.
My thanks go to George for all his hard work in the last two months and Gemma who started her new role at our busiest time of the year and has been invaluable help to me during the renewal period.
COURSE:
I can report as of Monday we will be back on grass tees. The guys have done a superb Job. The tees have been verti-drained, scarified and top dressed before they began over-seeding and fertilising. More course maintenance will also be starting next week with the greens being verti-drained and the wet holes such as 4, 5, 6, 17 are to be deep verti-drained.
SHOP:
The shop is stocked up and prepared to service your needs and wants for the new season. Foot-Joy shoes have arrived in the shop and have started to catch members eyes already. I must say the Premiere series do look fantastic so I would highly recommend popping your head in the shop soon before it's too late! Under Armour's 2025 Summer collection has just become available and the design of polos will definitely get you noticed on the course. MotoCaddy are introducing there brand new ME REMOTE Trolley. It combines the newest technology with great value and if you are looking for an electric trolley for the season this may be the perfect choice.
CLUB MATCH:
A few words from our captain in regards to the first Club team match of the season.
First match of the year against Royston on a cold sunny Saturday with the ball running well and the greens quick.
Perfect conditions and the team took advantage...
Captain and Daz managed a solid 4 and 3 and 43 points.
Rob and Helen played very well with a 6 and 5 win and 39 points.
James and sheldon played a canny game resulting in a 6 and 4 win and 37 points.
Hardeep and Harmit ran out 7 and 5 and 41 points.
Richard and Paul, albeit a little behind the main groups, cruised home 3 and 1 and a massive 44 points.
Finally Jon and Stuart won 1 up on the 18th and secured 40 points.
A good day at the office, next game is on the 5th April. come and join us!
FRAUD CASE
We are still working with police and our solicitor to try and re-coup the money stolen.
Once a charge is made, we can start to re-coup the money stolen from assets that will be frozen by police. We have been advised to keep badgering the police in order to get this case resolved asap, Gavin and I remain consistent in doing so.
Any updates will be communicated immediately.
