Foolhardy Trophy
Last Thursday saw the end to this year’s Men’s Midweek Winter Stableford competition with any of the top 5 in with a chance of winning the Foolhardy Trophy which is awarded to the player with the best 5 aggregate scores over the 23 competitions played. The top 2 going in to the final week with only a point separating them were 2023 winner Ray Pope and 2024 winner Ben Woolnough. With neither of them improving on their lowest qualifying scores Ray ended up winning with an aggregate score of 190pts to Ben’s 189pts. The top 11 in the aggregate table all have vouchers to collect from behind the bar if not already collected. Congratulations Ray on your second win in 3 years for this trophy and on a plus note we’ll save a bit on the engraving and signwriting as it’ll only need 5 letters as opposed to 10 had Ben won.
This Thursday is the final week with all those having played in 5 winter Stablefords qualifying to play in the final week. The Summer Midweek begins on April 10th.
