On Wednesday, 78 competitors took to the course to contest the February Midweek Stableford, having enjoyed the first use of the new cashless check-in which included the automatic print out of an index/handicap/strokes sticker for the scorecard! How great is that?
On the business of the actual golf, 27 scores came in 36 points and better. As one would expect, hole 8 played the easiest, at an average 0.75 over par ,and hole 10 the hardest at 1.97 over par. There were fourteen twos with extra congrats to Scott Ingram and Nick Morgan on each getting a brace.

Congratulations to Guy Thefaut taking the honours with 42 points. David Ford came in second, also on 42, with third place going to Richard Arnfield with 40. David Donnelly narrowly missed a podium finish being pipped into fourth on countback.

Vice Captain elect, Bill Boucher, had the best gross with a very commendable 75.
Winter Mixed Knockout
Three of the four semi-finalists in this years Winter Knockout have been decided. In the bottom half of the draw, Kirsty McDonald awaits the winner of David Harman/Mark Nimmo, having put Tim Hutchence out in her quarter final match.
In the top half David Henderson plays Peter Walsh, the latter having put paid to the chance of an all ladies final by beating Kara Catt in his QF game. David beat Mike Stewart in his.
Sunday Roll-up
24 joiners for Sunday’s roll-up with a record eight 2’s (which put a dent in the prize pot!) Congrats for those to John Vigar, Tamsin Loke, Dorje Soley, Page Singletary, Jim Whittaker, Stewart Robertson, Paul Moran and Pascal Huser.
Second and third places were decided on count back with Dorje Soley taking second form Julia Bailey - both with 38 points but Dorje having a storming 24 point back 9. Having been cut by 3 shots only a couple of weeks ago, the new resident Sunday Roll-up bandit Pascal Huser stormed with the gold medal yet again on 41 points!!!

Another two shot cut for Pascal but will it stop his winning ways we wonder? Well no pic next time unless he wears a sombrero!
Congratulations to all who have played this year, and most so to Kara for organising, as the Sunday Roll-Up has sent £540 to The Richmond Golf Club representing the weekly donations from the pot, along with a extra donations from 1st place prize winners. The most notable of these being from Andrew Jones who on his first and only appearance in April 2024 donated all of his £68 winnings!
Many thanks to everyone who has played in the roll-up and thus contributed throughout the year - the funds have been split equally between the Captain and Ladies captains charities. Hats off to you all!!
That’s All Folks!
