Bowood Park produced a dominant performance in the semi-final of the Cornwall Golf Union Frank Wills Salver, securing a 4-1 victory over Truro at Newquay Golf Club to book their place in the final.

The first pairing of Jon Rowe and James Taylor set the tone for Bowood Park with an emphatic 5&4 win over Morgan Craven and Simon Bray. Their strong play from the outset saw them build an early lead, which they never relinquished.

James Slatter and Dave Adey followed up with another crucial point for Bowood Park, overcoming Grant Champion and Jake Champion 2up in a well-contested match. Their steady performance under pressure ensured they closed out the match on the 18th hole.

The third match saw Mark Johnson and Steven Omlo edge out Andy Mortimore and Harry Salmon with a narrow 1up victory. In a game that could have gone either way, Bowood Park held their nerve to take the decisive final hole.

Tony Bright and Gareth Williams added another win for Bowood Park, defeating Andy Watson and Richard Wild 3&2. Their solid play throughout the match gave them control, allowing them to close it out comfortably before the final two holes.

The only point for Truro came in the final pairing, where Steve Paice and Dan Lord delivered a resounding 7&6 victory over David Goodman and Adam Hobbs. Despite their impressive performance, it was not enough to turn the tide for Truro.

With a commanding 4-1 win, Bowood Park advances to the final at Perranporth Golf Club on Sunday, 16th March 2025. They will face the winners of the other semi-final between Cape Cornwall Golf Club and St Mellion Golf Club, who are set to play on Sunday, 16th February.

Bowood Park will now look ahead to the final, aiming to advance their momentum and secure the prestigious Frank Wills Salver title.
