Dear fellow golfers it gives me great pleasure to announce that Buchanan Castle Golf Club have appointed Martin Munro (assistant Pro) to the position of Club Professional.
Although Martin is not yet fully qualified, we have every confidence that this will be achieved very shortly. Martin was impressive at interview outlining his plans for the next few years with confidence and maturity.
Martin will take up the position on 15th March. I am sure you will all join me in congratulating him on his appointment and will give your full support as he settles into his new position. Martin has a couple of prior engagements that have to be honoured and there may be an odd day or two when the Pro shop is closed in the latter half of March, we ask all members to be understanding regarding that part of the transition period. Jason finishes up on Friday 14th March, we all wish him every success in his new post and am sure he will not be a stranger at Buchanan!
Martin brings youth, enthusiasm and blue sky thinking to the table and I firmly believe that he will be great for Buchanan Castle.
As captain I am looking forward to working alongside Martin and wish him every success in this his first appointment as Club Professional.

I am proud to accept the position of Club Professional at Buchanan Castle Golf Club.
My journey with the club began almost 20 years ago when my dad introduced me to the game. I took my first few swings on Buchanan’s fairways, and from that moment, I was hooked. Over the years, I took lessons from Buchanan’s former professionals and went on to win the Junior Club Championship in 2013 and 2016.
Alongside assisting Jason in the shop, I studied building surveying at Glasgow Caledonian University, graduating in the summer of 2022. I started my PGA training shortly afterwards, and I am set to be fully qualified this year.
Now, as I near the completion of my training, I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience to this new role. I am committed to supporting the club and its members and look forward to helping Buchanan grow and thrive for years to come.
