Turkey Trot Report
Turkey Trot Report
As always the annual Turkey Trot was very well supported with 137 players from all sections of the club making up 35 Teams. Despite a weather forecast that suggested this was going to be a survival of the bravest we were blessed with a relatively dry but blustery day.

The slight tweak to the regular Texas Scramble format meant a few more tactics were in play to be sure drives and second shots were used wisely. For some this clearly worked well as scoring was very good.

Summary of the winners -

1st Place with a score of 52 points winning £50 vouchers each - Steve Kennedy, Neil Walters, Dipesh Naik, Rob Hill (pictured).

2nd Place with a score of 51 points winning £30 vouchers each - Louise Philipou, Steve Philipou, Russell Brown, Josh Masters

3rd Place on countback with a score 50 points winning £25 vouchers each - Freddie Hill, Thomas Hill, Isaac Derby, Jamie Andrews

4th place with 50 points winning £25 vouchers each - Josh Blackaby, Syndney Everest, George French, Alec Sach

Congratulations to Alex Wellbelove for his excellent Hole In One on the 8th hole and thank you to his generous contribution to the Captains Charity.

The Captains also decided that Trevor Barker and Gill Olke wore their festive jumpers the best and were rewarded with a bottle of bubbly each.

Thanks to the geneoristy of you all through purchase of raffle tickets, auction bids and payments for preferred tees we managed to raise a total of £2734 for our charity, the Tree of Hope.

Thanks again to those members who donated their own time to help make this event such a success - especially our fantastic team of ladies who run the registration and raffles so well and the competition team who do a great job ensuring all scores are registered and recorded. These events are not possible without the help of volunteers and you are all greatly appreciated!

Keep your eyes peeled for our next team event which will be our Season Opening event on Saturday 1st March. We still have not defined the format of that event and am more than happy to receive any suggestions for a format for the day - please send suggestions to captain@kingshill.golf

Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2025!
