Use of Mats in Competition
Rule Change
Dear Member,
Please be advised that with immediate effect the following local rule is in force:
Mats MUST be used on all closely mown areas other than when you are within 20 yards of the Green that you are playing to where you may play the ball from the grass.
When playing from the rough, you have the option to lift, clean and place the ball or to play the ball from a mat.
This change of rule is so that Competition Play mirrors social play and avoids confusion as has recently been the case.
