Longcliffe Junior – Gabby Crowfoot
.
The Junior European Open, first staged in 1993 and now in its 32nd year, is widely considered as the toughest test in junior golf across Europe. The 2024 Champions Week Finals in Cadiz, Spain was played over five rounds and the players’ best two gross scores from the first 4 rounds were added to the round 5 score to determine the result.

Gabby had qualified by winning the Regional Final held in July at Longcliffe and she travelled to Spain last week where she played brilliantly on a very tough course. Her caddy (Dad) told me the greens were like glass and she had to very quickly learn to “manage the grain”. Over all five days Gabby managed to post consistent scores of 79, 76, 77, 75, 77 which gave her a finishing score of 228 and a hard-won 6th place out of the 50 girls who started. What a tremendous achievement. Congratulations from us all at Longcliffe.
