Seniors Finish on a High
Victory at Truro
West Cornwall Seniors travelled to Truro GC to play their last match of the season on Wednesday 23rd October and claimed a well earned victory. With a reduced field of 7 pairs, a dominant West Cornwall team won 4 of their matches, with Truro taking two.

Captain for the day, Dennis Fryer and ever-reliable partner, Charlie Evans secured a difficult half point to start the scoring. Despite the challenge of very wet and often muddy fairways, it wasn’t long before the others were contributing to the West Cornwall total. Notable performances were from David Winks/Billy Winn (W 5&4) and Tom Gair/Jim Sinclair-Smith (W 4&3). Tom Gair also continued to stock his vast prize wine cellar, taking the visitors’ nearest the pin prize on the difficult par-3 16th.

Sadly, Seniors Captain Gary Barber was unable to lead this last fixture due to re-arranged dates. However, the team were able to make another strong contribution to the season’s impressive overall stats under Gary’s leadership: Played 21, Won 13, Lost 5, Drawn 3.

A huge pat on the back to all West Cornwall Seniors who have represented the club this season.
