Irvine Ladies Greenlees Title Party
2nd promotion on the trot!
Irvine Ladies have won Division 2 of the Greenlees league with an impressive points score of 51, beating Ranfurly Castle who finished in 2nd place on 49 points. Not only have they been promoted two years in a row but also won the Division Trophy each time!
History of the Greenlees Golf Trophy
In total 15 Irvine ladies played in the team over the course of the year, with 9 playing in the team on the day. This included three juniors who played in most of the matches. It's been a fantastic team effort, and all those ladies and juniors have played their part in this success.
Next year they will be meeting teams such as Cathkin Braes, Barassie, Milngavie, Troon Ladies and Williamwood. Ranfurly Castle will also join us in Division 1. It will be tough next year, we know that, but they are ready for that challenge. Bring it on!!
The Greenlees team was started by current Ladies captain, Linda Grieve, two years ago. Irvine had never entered a team as it was felt that they wouldn't be able to compete at the levels required. How wrong they were!!
With the recent and continued success of our Junior and Men's scratch team, the introduction of a Men's Handicap team and now to have an extremely successful Ladies team, the future is very bright for team golf at the club.
Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Captain Grieve and her team on what has been a marvelous achievement. Best wishes for 2025.
