Bedfordshire County Championships
Huge Success for Dunstable Downs GC
This weekend saw the County Championships played at Aspley Guise & Woburn Sands Golf Club. The golf course was in fantastic condition with the greens measuring at 13 on the stimpmeter – for a reference, this is the speed of your average PGA Tour Green!
During the first two rounds of the County Championships, competitors not only play for themselves but also a County Team Championship. The winners are calculated on the lowest three scores across two rounds. Members Rob Sutton, Ryan Craig and Paul Kenna were victorious by 1 shot over John O’Gaunt GC which means the trophy has returned to Dunstable Downs Golf Club – well done gents!
**The Main Event – The County Championship**
Rob Sutton was victorious over the field of 55 elite Bedfordshire golfers. Rob posted three amazing rounds of 75 (+4), 71 (+0), and 70 (-1) to shoot a total of 216 (+3) to be crowned Bedfordshire County Champion 2024.
