Competitions Saturday 13th & 14th April 2024
Please note that due to the constant inclement weather the competitions committee have liaised with the Head Greenkeeper and agreed that for this weekend all competitions will be played over 15 holes on the Millennium Orange and Green Courses.
Previously we have only been able to run competitions over 9 and 18 holes, however, the new rules from 1st April permits us to run competitions over 11 holes or more to 18. This was brought in by England Golf so that more handicap acceptable competitions could be run in the winter when some holes could not be played.
This means that players sign in the same in as normal, insert your course handicap on your scorecard that is provided on the screen when you sign in for the Medal competition. For the Neil Kerr Millennium and the Women’s Charity Cup scorecards with all the information recorded will be available from the professional shop.
Please Note that for singles competitions from 1st April you can no longer use the slope rating board to calculate your course handicap it has to be taken from the PSI screen as it is what England Golf call Machine Precision.
You can now go and enjoy your round of golf but do not play the 13th 14th and 15th holes.
When you upload your scores it will ask you for the name of your marker (attester) before scores can be uploaded. When you load the scores for the 13th 14th and 15th insert zero and click “Did Not Play”. When this is uploaded your scores will go forward for the result of the competition and for handicap assessment.
All cards Men and Women should be posted in the boxes in the conservatory where a member of the competitions committee will retrieve them and take them to the committee room for checking and publish the result. This is different to previous years for the women’s competitions.
Players will note that the Leader-board is no longer accessible on the PSI screen or on a mobile device until the last scorecard has been uploaded.
