Greens Maintenance
Sand Injection
Time to celebrate! It's Masters week and all the ropes in front of the greens have been taken in, so the season is officially underway. We hope you enjoy the approaches this year!

This week we’ve had a company arrive to use a relatively new technique on the greens called sand injection: You can find out more information here Topchanger XP vgrequipment.com. Essentially it fires a high-pressure jet of water into the green and then backfills with sand behind, allowing us to get around 40 tons of sand into the greens without having to remove a hollow core. The most important aspect is next to no disruption of the playing surface.

The two main reasons for introducing sand into the greens is to deliver better surface drainage and to improve play for the golfer with a truer roll of the ball. Hence, why dressing is so important. All this means even better greens for our members to enjoy this year. The greens should be back in play by Thursday 11th April.
