England Golf has now approved the Committee’s application for a Provisional Rating for the Blue tee positions on the course. They will be referred to as the Men’s Blue and Ladies Green courses to reflect the different distances etc. and some colour changes will be made to Fixed Distance Markers.

The Provisional Rating is effective from the 4th April 2024 and valid for 4 years during which time it is expected the course will be fully rated by CUGC.

We now have five (5) course settings, White, Yellow, Ladies Red, Men’s Blue and Ladies Green. This will provide Management and Committee with added options for Course Management and Handicapping purposes, not just during winter months, but throughout the year, as appropriate.

The new Handicap Tables for each of the Men’s Blue & Ladies Green 18 hole, Front 9 and Back 9 courses are available in Club Docs on the Club V1 App, and will be posted on the notice boards.

Members will have seen the Course Rating & Slope Rating Table has been removed from the Pro Shop wall. A new Table has been ordered to reflect the handicap changes effective from 1st April and will display ROUNDED Course Handicaps suitable ONLY for General Play and calculation of Match Play Handicaps.

All other Competition Playing Handicaps will be system generated using full UNROUNDED Course Handicaps.
