ALERT! HOW NEW WHS RULES AFFECT CHs and PHs
SEE V1 DOCUMENTS FOLDER FOR MORE DETAILS
Main points are:
1.Your Course Handicap (CH) now adds on the difference between the Course Rating (CR) and the Par of the course you are playing on, and is calculated to one decimal place. For Whites, this is only 72.2-72 = 0.2, but for Reds is 71.7-73 = -1.3 and Yellows its 70-72 = -2.0, so quite a noticeable difference there! (Same for all, so little effect on internal competitions)
2. The more accurate version of the CH is used to calculate the Playing Handicap (PH) for the competition you are in (eg times by 95% for stableford comps), with the PH rounded at the end. This can lead to significant differences in PH from the old system
3. You'll be glad to know that all will be calculated for you by the WHS software and will be applied to the gross scores you enter, as before
4. The CH chart in the clubhouse has been replaced by 3 new ones (for each set of tees) that display rounded values. These are fine for casual play or match play, but are not used to calculate PHs in stablefords and medals (PSI will use the decimalised versions)
