ADVERSE/EXTREME WEATHER RULES
Placing on the same spot in the rough
COMMENCING 19/12/24

Under the new England Golf’s “adverse/extreme weather” rules, the local rule of placing on the same spot, in the rough, will come into play on Thursday 19-12-24. Preferred lies on closely mown areas remains in place as detailed below.

General Area relief
a) PREFERRED LIES: for closely mown areas (basically the fairways) preferred lies will apply, where the position of a ball can be marked, lifted, cleaned and placed within 6” (but not nearer the hole), ONCE for any given shot.
b) LOCAL RULE: for all other general areas (basically the rough) the position of the ball can be marked, lifted, cleaned and replaced ON THE SAME SPOT, ONCE for any given shot. This does not replace taking a penalty shot where that is the appropriate course of action.

Please be aware that these rules DO NOT apply to the following areas: 1) The teeing area 2) Penalty areas 3) Bunkers or 4) The putting green as they have their own rules as indicated in the Rules of Golf.

THIS LOCAL RULE WILL BE REVIEWED WEEKLY
Please remember that for cards to count for handicap, there can only be two temporary greens on an 18-hole round and one on a 9-hole round. There is NO restriction on the number of bunkers in or out of play.

CURRENTLY none of our tees meet England Golf's/WHS requirements for submission of handicap cards. Once the required criteria is met then tees for handicap will be activated.
