Scratch Team stage great comeback to progress

The Scratch team managed to progress into the next round of the Sussex County inter-club plate.
There are some top clubs that have fallen in the early stages so the plate will remain difficult to win this year.
Mark Earley made his scratch team debut paired with Dean Plant in the morning to produce a precious morning point as the three other pairings all lost.
The team trailed 3-1 after the morning foursomes so Captain, Marcus Opoku sent out the strength early in the hope to get back in the game. Dean Plant & Lee Drew unexpectedly lost , but with wins by Olly Dickman, Steve Graham, Tom Aye-moung & Dan Burchell gave the team hope, but Mannings Heath still led by 6-5 , so it was left to Jordi Southgate to bring in the winning point and tie the match 6-6 (away win).
