Today marks the end of an incredible dry spell of weather as forecast showing showers tonight. Some 28 days without rain, lots of direct sunshine and a north wind. Many morning including today have seen frosts and the day time temperatures well into the high teens. Some 300000L of water has been extracted from the pond to irrigate our greens and tees. We use soil moisture probs on the greens during this spell to accurately target irrigation duration. Over watering during these spells only encourages the ranker grass species we have been successfully removing from our surfaces over the years for all the right reasons. Hopefully the good weather returns soon. Please repair all pitch marks, rake bunkers after use, replace divots and use the divot boxes provided on the tees.
