The use of fairway mats is discontinued. Preferred lies will be in operation only on closely mown areas e.g. fairways. A ball lying in the semi-rough may be marked, lifted and cleaned then replaced on the original spot. In all other areas of the course the ball must be played as it lies, relief will only be allowed where permitted in the Rules of Golf e.g. in casual water. General play scores can now be entered into the WHS. Ride-on buggies can be used but avoid the 5th fairway and the start of the 9th fairway. Follow the white lines around the course at all times.
