Dean Plant (pictured) shot an impressive 38pts or 67 (-5 gross) in damp conditions in round 1, West Course. The course was playing very long off the blue tees , but the plus 3 golfer mastered the conditions. His score was matched by an equally brilliant display by Neil Gray who's highlight was a chip-in birdie on the 15th.
Deen Lasoye & Mark Budd are both nicely placed on 36pts with 10 players within 5pts there is much to play for tomorrow.
